Hi,
I wonder if anyone who has the latest v9 disc has had any issues with certain roads not showing up in destination entry. I bought what would appear to be a genuine disc with foil seal intact (of ebay- - I know) but when I try to enter Beckett's Lane Chester in it wont show. However it is there on the map!! This a possible dodgy disc maybe?
Stuart.

Apart from lack of full post-code entry this is an extremely frustrating feature of COMAND.

I have V6.3 DVD and I reckon about half the roads I search for are not in the database, yet of course the road is aways there in the map.

I've resorted to using MultiMap now to find where I'm going the night before, then using the map function in COMAND to locate the same place, storing it, then recalling from the Nav menu. Ridiculous.

It's tough to find anything in COMAND's menu if you don't really know where you're going (yet isn't that the idea of it:rolleyes: ). If you look for an address in, say, Reading, then after Reading it will offer you another level, like a district or area, which is often meaningless and not part of the address.

OK.

There are some UK entries missing from the V9 disk (including most of the MB dealers rather embarrisnly) - MB acknowledged this in a service note a few days ago, along with stopping supplying V9 in the UK at least.

The solutions available are :-
a) Stick with V9 which has better coverage, but a few UK towns missing
b) MB dealers will actually exchange the disk for a V8 disk. Its mentioned on TIPS and they have a special part number to order V8 in the UK, with a part-exchange price for the old disk. They should know about it. I havent tried this mechanism out to ensure its a free exchange (yet!)

I downgraded to V8 2 days ago to see what would happened and went to Liverpool via Manchester from Ascot on a quick trip to see the superior football team playing on Sunday.
- I had 2 cases of V8 not knowing things that I expected it would - i.e didnt know where man city football stadium was, and some other new place I was going - I just never experienced that on V9

So, my advice is to stick with V9 ... unless you happen to live in one of those areas with missing roads. V9 is far far superior - critically so if you visit Northern Ireland.

These errors are unforgiveable when the DVDs on their own cost more than most complete stand-alone nav systems.

Agreed. Its a feature/fault of the disk supplier, not the comand unit/Mercedes.
