me refiero al conector que lleva el comand2.0 (c2) para poder conectarlo a los conectores blanco y negro de 12 pines cada uno
estos conectores van en el conector fakra....

audio 20cd ntg2.5 retrofit

Hello,

I have a question about retrofitting audio20cd ntg2.5 in a 2006 w203.

Currently my car has audio50APS wich I want to remove due to lack of maps for eastern europe (I use my pda for navigation). I have no other devices like cd changer, telephone or HK amplifier installed. Recently I bought from ebay one audio 20 ntg2.5 unit. I also bought the bluetooth antenna, and a rearview mirror with incorporated microphone. My question is related to the wiring harness adapters. What else do I need in order to install that unit in the car. I know that I will need the microphone cable extender, but I am not sure about the iso connector and the FM/AM antenna. If I'm doing this retrofit, will I need more things to modify in the future in order to install comand ntg2.5 asumming that I will not remove the gps antenna ?

cd-i you need the parts listed in this kit: Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: COMAND Retrofit parts :: A/B/CLC/ML/GL/R COMAND NTG2.5 (Hard Disk) retrofit kit - cars with phone. You wont need anything else if you later change to Comand NTG2.5.

I took a look at the parts in the link you gave me. I have one question.
I saw that on the picture with all the cables I need there is no adapter for the ISO connector of the head unit (the one that carries the power supply, speaker signals, CAN, etc..). Does that mean the connectors of the two units (Audio50APS ntg2, and audio20 ntg2.5) are pin to pin compatible or I have to do some rerouting of the wires inside the connector?

They are both quadlock not ISO so no loom needed. FM power connection is the only one that needs to be changed, try doing a search on here been mentioned before which pin needs to be changed.

You will need a new HK amp and a loom converter for the amp.

I started this upgrade on my C55 and then abandoned it as time ran out.

The comand units are very hard to come by these days as the plant where they are made is inside the exclusion zone around the Japanese nuclear plant hit by the Tsunami/Earthquake.

You will need coding plus the mics can be routed to the built in ones in the rear view mirror if you have them.

so if i have the NTG 2.5 unit, i would only need the amp and loom converter to make it work??

The car is a CL203 facelift.

As far as I know, the Audio 20 on the facelift W203 does not have built-in Bluetooth.

You will need either the original MB Telephony Convenience Option retrofitted to your car (it fits in the cavity under the centre arm rest), or install any other aftermarket Bluetooth kit.

NTG2.5 does have built-in Bluetooth, but again it will be a retrofit, because W203 never came with NTG2.5 - the original COMAND version for W203 was NTG2.

I assume the same applies to CL203.

The loom you need is huge. It runs from the amp to every speaker in the car. NTG 2.5 HK and NTG2 HK are completely different in the W203.

Late model W203 coupe's did get NTg 2.5 from around model year 2010.

Plus as I understood I need all wirings from amp to every speaker - can I use wirings from w211 for example, because I see quite cheap set of all HK system for w211 09 model year with HK?
2. Also I found info that with some modification (cutting of edges) people do install a Comand NTG 2.0 from W164 into w203. Same w164 Comand NTG 2.5 are also cheap (150-250$) if compare to W203 Comand. So if I want to install this w164 NTG 2.5 comand (a1648705094,a1648708994, a1649002401,a1649007101,a1649062000,a1649063500) shall I use w164 ntg 2.5 amplifier (A2518700590, A2518703190) or I can use W211/W219 amplifier from first option? Also what loom converter and what wirings shall I buy?

I suggest you read this thread from the top.

You need a W203 NTG 2.5 Comand not a w164. You also need an NTG 2.5 amp there is one on eBay at present. You need a loom converter also.

Am I correct that w164 comand 2.0 and 2.5 are same size? This case it easily can be put into w203 with minor cutting.

this thread is about installing COMAND NTG2.5 in a W203. Its not about NTG2.

The W203 never had NTG2.5 as a factory-fitted option. It only ever had NTG2.

The W203 was discontinued in 2008, before NTG2.5 was even released. However, the CCL made in 2009/2010 was based on W203, and had NTG2.5.

Compared to NTG2.5, the older NTG2 had no SD-Card slot, no HDD navigation, and no Bluetooth.

For this reason, if retrofitting COMAND in a W203, it makes more sense to install NTG2.5 from a CLC, rather than an NTG2 from a W203. The CLC and the W203 had the same dashboard. However, this will only work for W203 face-lift (2004-2008). The earlier W203 (2000-2003) had an older style of dashboard, not sure if the NTG2.5 would fit in that car.

The NTG2.5 units made for different cars had different facia panels. AFAIK the actual unit is the same, the only difference is the model-specific facia. My understanding is that the facia panel is integrated with the device and therefor you really need the COMAND unit for your car. Whether you can cut/file/reshape the facia panel from one model of car to another I don't know, but in any event my guess is that the result would look like a dog's breakfast, so this isn't something I wouldn't do (if it was my car).

With regards the wiring etc, the NTG2.5 on my previous W203 was professionally installed by www.comandonline.co.uk, so I am afraid I can't help with the wiring, but I know they sell the items required for the retrofit via their website, so you might want to buy it from them using the link above.

My problem is with the microphones fitted in my car, in the rear view mirror, i bought the retrofit cable to use the original mics with the bluetooth and connected the cable in the mirror and the ntg 2.5 unit and the mics dont work, the other party can hear me, i bought another rear view mirror because i thought the mics in my car are faulty and it did not work either.
