What features / benefits do you get from a 2.5 over and above the below:

1. 7 digit postcodes
2. 'Built-in' bluetooth
3. Easier iPod integration
4. Memory card audio playpack
5. Video playback

Is the system 'better' in any way? Does it have speedcams?

NB. Why does the 2.5 one have 7-digit pcode capability and the old one still doesn't?

The newer COMAND units are more compact that the older units . Where the old unit used seprate amp , head unit , nav drive , phone and langtronic that are linked via MOST , the new COMAND is just a double din head unit .
With the new COMAND langtronic is standard also and it uses a hard drive to store maps , the older system was CD based .
One draw back with the newer system is the loss of the storage tray behind the lower control panel on cars with out CDC .

The linguatronic is a huge improvement over the older system in that you do not have to spell the names of towns etc, you just say them. It also allows you to dial names from your phones contact list rather than those stored in the comand unit.

Birdseye view is also a new feature as is the 'economical' route mode.
