VeDOK is used to generate the map licence key, which is based on the chassis number and the actual map type/version.

When the dealer generates the key, they get a bill to pay too.

I can not find in VEDOC and i can not generate the map licence.

If i generate the map licence for installed europe map data how can i enter it with star diagnosis?

As Richard has said, you need to take the car to Mercedes and have them update the vehicle datacard for Comand and then SCN code the car. Then they can load the maps after generating the key.

Fitting NTG 4.5 to a car is no where near as straightforward as fitting other comand units to other MB models.

Could I using the XEntry input the pin code for the Navi maps?

You put the code in when you put the maps in. Map disk goes in, unit asks for the code (it may be at the end of loading the map disks).

No. The map data PIN code has 6 characters. not 25 characters. Theft protection code and the map licence code are not same.

I am trying to fix the map data issue on NTG 4.5 by my self. Factory person's does not give information about this issue. They dont give the code to user retrofitted comand systems. I love NTG 4. No theft key , no map licence. Just plug and play. No need SCN coding.

as i was said you must buy a new dvd which is different from your installed map data on device, then you request the 6 chars code with dvd part number + serial number with your SCN coded VIN number. SCN must be done.

Then you can install the map datas to device and you can remove the comand map data error.

If you have installed Europe data on device, you must buy another country dvd. example : brazil canada or middle east.

Hi all,
I have retrofit the NTG 4.5 for my 2011 E350 coupe...
I can open the COMAND Online (a little globle at upper-right coner)
and
I also use Blackberry BOLD 9900 try to connet to the COMAND Online

after several time testing, the result is: "Connection failed."

the provider settings:
AP : internet (I have check this from Taiwan mobile)
ID : <>
PASSWORD: <>
DNS : Automatic

.
so I check COMAND HU settings:
compare my NTG 4.5 with the MB USA's...
<left-my NTG 4.5> <Right-MB USA's NTG 4.5>
there are some different and question here:
my NTG 4.5...
1.(2) PASS is GRAY?
2.(3) Internet Connect is GRAY?
will it cause the NTG 4.5 commmetion failed?

Version 6.0 January 2012 is now available. I have booked car in for the update tomorrow.

Can anyone confirm that V6.0 is still the latest map data version number for Europe.

No. V7.0 is 2012 according to ODUS.

I have one arriving tomorrow, so I can check it really is called V7.0

For completeness, according to the current Mercedes navigation disk document: -

V7.0 ("2012") is latest for NTG4-W212 (i.e W212 and W207, but not W204)
V5.0 ("2011/2012") is latest for NTG4.5

I've bought comand ntg 4.5 and I have the 25 digit antitheft pin.
Can I enter the antitefht code on my comand ntg 4.5 with Xentry Developer? Which version? 01/2012 or 03/2012 or 07/2012 ? Please let me know. Thanks

No there's a date from when your car had to be built for you to be eligible for the update, it's at some point in 2010.. April onwards I think but not 100%.

From the navigation update registration web page...

"Please note: the licence for three years of free European map updates is only available in the countries listed below and only in conjunction with new vehicles from model year 2011 with COMAND APS and Codes 801 and higher, 81P and 502. If these conditions do not apply, you will not be entitled to free map upgrades, despite registering.
