Hi all. Hope you are all well

I hate to say this but the sat nav on my old Vauxhall Signum seemed much better than the Comand on my 2006 c class. It won't give me any traffic info at all- just says no TMC signal being received. Can I change this in the settings or is it a trip to the stealers?

Agreed. You're running an old version that doesn't support TMC. Go for the latest version and you will be fine.

I believe the first version that supported TMC management in the UK was version 6.3.
The cost of purchasing the very latest nav disk for your C Class (version 10) will be circa £200 (probably more) depending on where you buy it. Apparently its a very good version and many old bugs have been fixed. So if you are flush, its the one to go for. Earlier versions 9.X disks had bugs and can cause problems and best avoided.
I use version 6.3 which is fine and works well. TMC works without any problem and dynamic route guidance is worth its weight in gold. OK, its not slap-bang up to date and the VERY latest roads are missing, but its a good cheap, affordable compromise and can be bought for less than £50 if you look in the right places. But make sure you get a GENUINE ORIGINAL disk and not a hooky copy. These rarely work and are to be avoided like the plague. Be careful, because even copies can look real. Make sure you get some kind of warranty before buying just in case.

Version 6.1 was the first to offer TMC, then came 6.2 and 6.3. Next it went straight to v8, then v9, 9.1 and now 10. Avoid V9 and 9.1 as they had some problems.
