Big thanks to Mitash at http://www.mercedescomand.com/ for doing such a great install in my W210.

Anybody know how I get it to pick up the traffic data when calculating a route?

All you need is a TMC disc and tune to Classic FM. At first I was a bit annoyed about having to listen to Classic but you only have to tune to it every 15 minutes for about 30 seconds to pick up the TMC data, then you can go back to what you were doing.

Every now and then they have a "Classic FM at the movies" session and then it's 2001 a space odyssey, the omen, star wars, jaws etc and you forget to tune back to radio whatever ;)

Am also looking to upgrade my system

A quick search on Google found me http://www.bluespot.co.uk/ who are offering two alternatives a Blaupunkt DX with and without TMC.

Not sure sure the TMC version is worth it reading all the comments

If we are publically praising installers of COMAND then look no further than a member who has countless recommendations from happy customers who have regularly complemented him on a most professional service.

If your install is a recent one then why doesn't it display the TMC information?

TMC works well and once you've used it and its saved you hours stuck in a jam, you'll think its marvellous! The downside is that TMC DX disks costs about £60 more than non TMC ones! I can supply any Teleatlas disk at very competitive prices.;)
