So now I've got my Comand working in my W210 I have bought a an MB TV tuner to add on. (from an S class). Trouble is I 'm not sure what connects to where. Has anyone got a wiring /connection diagram or any info? It is a single din size unit with sockets similar to those found on a normal head unit which suggest it takes power from a normal A socket (like comand) & poss is hard wired into eth speakers??- plus 4 antenna & another multin pin (18 I think) socket. But I'm just guessing.

Thanks for any help - you've all been great so far!

Steve,

I can't give you any answers, but try this -

Click on the first link -
Babelfish

then this link, and enter its URL into the Babelfish box, and select German to English -

Megacomm

You will need to register to get into the forum, but its an interesting place. Looks like if you posted in English, you'd get an answer.

Hope it helps.

Or just have a natural ability to speak and read German :D

4 years living in Germany with a german girlfriend has its uses !

May I ask how much you paid for the TV-tuner?

Or how much one should expect to pay for a used TV-tuner (for Comand)? :)

So Steve Mbenznl

Can you tell us how to conenct the TV to Comand?? Which aerials do you recommend for W210?

:)

stoopid question...NO offcourse you don't NEED it...but you WANT it! wanna bet :D ...

ow, Steve...I have wiring harnesses that plug straight into the comand and TV tuner...which is easier then going through the electric layouts on my WIS...
I haven't found descend priced FUNCTIONAL TV antennas yet...(haven't looked either though).

greetingz,

greetingz,

I have pm'd you for a price on the cable. What exactly does it connect as there are power (8 pin) and signal (18 pin) connectors on the TV tuner.

I am thinking of bumper mounted aerials front & rear - the local audio specialists are having good results using the standard MBenz (Hirschmann) Bumper mounted Cellphone aerials this way. Apparantly they are good at picking up VHF & UHF TV as well as cellphone signals. They cut off the standard plugs and solder on new jack plugs to suit the TV tuner aerial inputs. As there are only 2 cables they recommend plugging 1 into each of the outside inputs only.

I have 1 set of these in the rear bumper of my ML but reception is poor so I will try a set in the front to see if that helps - but my Sony TV in the ML does not have diversity aerial input just 1 coax. I'll probably try joing the two together at the tuner end.
