Comand update not up to date?

I have the Comand version 2017/2017 V16.0, presumably the latest. I travel regularly to Herts from Shropshire and always go via M6/M1. However at the M6/M1 junction (19) the satnav tells me to keep right, which would send me onto the A14. I think this was the original route but the J19 improvement was completed a couple of years ago.

Does anyone else have this?

The latest maps version for your COMAND NTG4.5 is actually 2018 v17.

Said that, the SatNav maps DVDs are prepared based on cartography data purchased by MB from cartography data providers, which, by the time the DVD is released, will topically already be around one year old.

So your current 2017 v16 maps will likely be based on 2016 data.

Is that a very recent update - as I was told by the dealer when they updated the satnav it would be the latest one (this was mid May). Thanks for the info anyway

Nothing much changes, quite a few time voice turn right, map straight on.

Unfortunately if you want up to date maps on a satnav you will have to download Waze onto your phone and forget about the built in satnav.

In my 2012 C220 I had the Becker navigation, and even the 'latest map updates' were at least 18 months out of date. I got so used to driving across ploughed fields in France (according to the sat nav) that I used to carry my Tom Tom with me for when I wanted to get somewhere new.

Latest Comand NTG5.5 in the S213 is also 'powered' by Becker, and yes, those maps are out of date as well.

Waze is my fallback satnav too, it has never let me down and has been used in Europe and North America.

I find the girls voice a bit shouty and my biggest problem is I can't see the phone screen very well but it's pretty effective. It also told me to look out for a pothole lol
