'Comedic' renewal pricing - Churchill

Just when I was making friends I mentioned the obviously dangerous and smelly baked maize-based snacks instead of normal, everyday crisps. I stand here, suitably chastised (courtesy of an old friend from Sussex gardens), and humbly ask for forgiveness. Tyrrell's anyone?

Much better. You’re back on the list. 😁

And then there's that rumour that insurance companies are refusing to cover kids and RR Spoooorrrrrts....
Both true I believe. I’ve got two young kids, youngest just passed her test, £1800 insurance. And I’ve heard from friends that £3k is not unusual.

Companies are refusing to insure RR’s inside the M25..

moved out of london(outside of m25). last year it was £1100 to insure 20 plate c63. this year it's close to 2k to insure a 17 plate c63. bonkers...

I heard that all insurance companies are owned by just eight people, who combined own 80.085% of total global wealth - and their wealth has been growing at an average rate of 71.75% over the last 70 years, and is now peaking at 80.11045%
If anyone is unsure of the credibility of those statistics then pop them into your calculator - an old school LCD is best.

Rob, I usually take your words as gospel and I appreciate your opinions, but I only have 5 words to describe your comments above......................... Breast, more Breasts and Testicles.

Those statistics I cited are largely possibly credible, and if you spotted any trends in the data then it’s purely mostly coincidental! 👀

PS Thank goodness that you didn't call me Robert this time! 😁

Proof that the car insurance world has gone mad dropped onto my doormat this morning.

From Aviva: "We've overcharged you by £49 for your car insurance. Here's a cheque for your refund."

Pardon?

(So that's now just over £500 to insure my E500 for the year)

I had a letter from Aviva saying I'd been overcharged by £7 for my insurance.

Just had the renewal through for my C63S from Churchill this morning - frankly its worthy of an Oscar for comedy.

My premium has gone up a full £202 to £808 for the year.....thats for a 46 year old, 12,000 miles a year, car parked on the drive, with a £900 combined excess and 1 additional driver. No convictions and no claims etc etc... Also, we have another car insured with them, so I feel they are really taking the Micheal here....

Is it just me or have prices risen at a mad rate this year? Worse still, a quick check on compare the market shows that Churchill are the cheapest anyway at £770 for 'new' customers!

*Sigh* Yet another waste of my time whilst I threaten to leave them and they offer me a few crumbs/quid off and spin me the old 'prices have risen across the board' etc etc....
I have 2 cars and both were insured by Churchill. They declined to offer me insurance for my C63 and wouldn’t give me an explanation why. My other car is a diesel 2013 Golf and they wanted £480 to insure it this year…….. I told them to shove it. I will never use them again!

I’ve just got my renewal from LV for the Alfa. Increased from £170 to £230 including all mods so although that’s quite a % increase it’s still good value.

I have a feeling I’ll be telling them the same at renewal this year. I switched cars in December to an E63S, paid a ‘nominal’ £180 approx to modify the policy. But have a feeling they’ll give me a quote well into four figures for a new policy. Tesco quoted £900 though, so hoping they’ll do that again in July. Also have two cars insured with them, the other one is my wife’s Dacia Duster and they had £490 out of me for that too!

My 230ce renewal went from £119 to £146. Also 3000 miles PA. That was with Aviva through Adrian Flux. I think I've made a stupid error though. They got me a slightly cheaper quote with someone else and I impulsively agreed to it without doing my usual homework. I hate dealing with people on the phone, so just agreed to get it over with. Trinity Lane? Never heard of them but a quick google wasn't encouraging 🤦🏼‍♀️

The saloon went up by a fair bit as well, also with Aviva, but still under £300 so not too bad.

My renewal on the SL has gone from £179 to £349 with esure 5k miles , when I insured it last year it was cheaper than a classic policy ..
Footman James classic policy with agreed valuation came in at £235 , Carole Nash and Hagerty were much more at £400 and £600 odd
