Command 2.0 problem

Today I started the car and after a few seconds the command popped and turned itself off.

After trying to press the power button nothing happened. I pressed the eject on the unit and the navi cd ejected. After reinserting the CD I cold then power up again.

Everything seems to be working OK

Has any else had this type of problem?

Sure the cd wasn't Barry Manilow?

Haven't had mine long but it doesnt do that - sorry no help here.

The dealer has had the car for a few days for an intermittant non starting problem, they found that the Command was causing an intermittant drain on battery, this unit was installed new 18months ago by Norwich Union. as the orignal I got from MBENZNL was stolen. The stealer told me that DC had no record of the car having command when new, suprise suprise. However today The car is ready and a brand new Command has been installed, the warranty on the car expired in December 06 I do have a service contract with DC, but I never thought they would replace the unit. I need to check it all works but well done.

I reckon you were pretty lucky to get it replaced by NU - did they realise it wasn't factory fitted?
Dealers seem to replace the whole units for the slightest faults.

I wondered if many COMAND units got stolen - apparently it's a complete nightmare with Ford nav units as they're so readily interchangeable with the standard fit radios.

I told NU I was fitted and not factory installed, they where fine as they covered third party audio equipment.

The repairers took 6 weeks, to get the interface cable required from braybrookes took 3.
