I still want to upgrade my sound system and I wonder what my command unit would be worth and what would I be able to get for it.
Is 100% working condition. I will include SAT NAV disc with it.

Anyone intrested - give me reasable offer.

Anyone?

Can mod move it somewhere where ppl could answer and delete 2 last posts. Looks like this was wrong one to create discusion.

Can you hook these up to an Amp? (red/white speaker leads)

When I had the 210 this was a mod i really wanted to do , but I found that the cost of the dubble din wood trim panel was gonna be the same as a second hand unit .

A COMAND would be a nice addition to my W208.

Do you know the model number of this unit so I can see if it is compatible with my car (facelift with steering wheel controls).

Alternatively, do any knowledgeable members know whether the W210 units are generally compatible with the W208?

Thanks!

Don't think so , I seem to remember Alfie telling me that w164 ( ML ) units and w208 units were compatible , but thats it ...

( Alfie fitted a w164 unit in mine and recoded it to the 208 )

I'm not the oracle though , wait for Alfie or Richard to confirm. :)

It would be handy to have a list of what units are compatable with which models.......

Info on what units were fitted to each model: http://www.mercupgrades.com/COMAND+++All+about+the+different+Mercedes+COMAND+systems-article-54.html

From above link:

The W208 units all used CANBus network, and in fact W210 units can be made to work in the W208 cars.
The W163 units, whilst looking like W208 and W210 units have the 4 signals mentioned above wired discretely and have no CANbus connection.
The curvey units on the W203 C and W209 CLK are interchangeable, but none of the others are. The W463 G class unit is the same shape but it needs a seperate speed signal. The R230 SL unit is unique

yes it should work on facelift W208.

the ML ones are non-canbus (fine for PRE-facelift CLK) and yours (if fitted to a CDI W210) should be a canbus so, will work on a facelift W208.

anyway, both are compatible but a non can on a facelift car wont be able to have display in the cluster or steering wheel controls (and also may require a relay for 12v ignition), and a can one on a pre-facelift car will require a canbus adaptor.

i used a canbus one on my pre-facelift CLK with a canbus adaptor. I then retrofitted facelift wheel and cluster and removed the canbus adaptor, but fitted a relay to turn it off when canbus switches off..... but when i took these out (but left in the COMAND) when i sold the car, i had to make the command run direct from the ignition circuit.

hope this helps!

I've got an ML one in my post facelift CLK.

Mine is part no: 210 820 48 89. Im getting closer to idea of selling it. Dont know the price as yet.

i may be interested if the price is right..... not 100% but please let me know if you decide to sell.. fancy retrofitting to my W124..

I sold a COMAND unit on ebay about 6 months ago for £240 complete with an old 2001 disc.

command

Hi also interested currently looking at ebay and its eastern europe units because after market alpine means no steering control unless it is one fitted on pre facelift? thinking aloud

Right then... I decided to sell it and upgrade it with Pionner. I wouldnt mind to sell it with CD changer but I can part it.

SilverSaloon intrested??

Bungle - what about you?

BTW. If I remove Command - does that effect other units? If missing will it trigger faults?? Except on Star what is obvious.
