command failure

Started up the car to return home today and the screen for the command had a load of what looked like japanese lettering and the words key off in english showing up.
Everything on the system was dead sat nav cd and radio.
Although the speakers werd live as if up turn up the volume you could hear the hum.
Tried to re boot it and now just have the merc star showing on the screen but nothing else works.
Weird as 10 mins earlier everything was fine.
Anyone else ever had this problem

Try pulling the fuse for Comand out for a while to see if it solves it. If not could be a faulty Comand or problem with another device on the MOST fibre optic bus.

Cheers for that i will give that ago tomorrow if not its a trip to the dealers,
Thank god its still in warranty.

Tried everthing but nothing worked, took it to the dealers today and a full new command system unit is needed. Power is getting to the system but it seems its gone on strike.
Got to wait over a week as there is not one in the country according to the dealer which seems a bit strange.
Just glad i wont have a bill as the bloke next to me was quoted over 200 quid just for a single parking sensor that had packed in on his merc.
