Command Shutting Down

Hi,
I have recently bought a Mercedes C Class (2008) and It has a strange problem with the command..

Every 30 minutes it shutting down with a message "Please turn on the engine" but the engine is running... did anyone had the same problem?

This sounds like the comand cannot see that the ignition is on. Possibly a Canubus fault. Was the comand in the car from new or retrofitted?
