Connect W208 to ipod

I have owned my 2000 CLK230 for a few years now and would like to connect my iPod to the stereo. When I bought the car the previous owner told me that there was a lead fitted in the boot which would allow me to do this. At the time most of my music was on cd so I really didn't pay too much attention. I know this sounds really silly but I have looked everywhere I can think of and the only lead I can find is next to the cd changer in the boot. It looks more like a cable for a tow hitch to me though. Can anyone please tell me what I should be looking for. Photo attached of cable next to cd changer in case this actually is it.

That's a towbar lead.

What is your VIN number ? Need to work out if you have COMAND or Audio-10/30, and/or TV tuner
