I have a facelift 2011 C class sport which has a USB and jack port in the centre cubby hole.

I've got some music on a USB stick which simply plugs in and plays, but Mrs C220 has an ipod nano and I'm afraid I'm completely clueless with anything iapple.

I thought you'd simply use the white cable that came with the ipod and plug that into the USB socket to connect it. Clearly I'm clueless.

So where and how do I connect an ipod so it plays through the car.

No COMAND is fitted. I have the Becker Map pilot and the regular audio.

I guess I need to buy a specific cable?

The USB port you have doesnt support apples devices. To use an ipod you need the optional media interface or ipod kit. Or you can use the aux input jack you have, but you wont be able too see track names or control the ipod.

I tried connecting through the aux input but that didn't work.

I assume that's just jack to jack as though a pair of headphones are connected to the ipod?

I'm reasonably sure I don't have media interface seeing as I didn't pay for any options!

Yes jack to jack then obviously you need to select the aux input as the source on the headunit.

Splendid, got it working and it's fine. Thanks.
