I want to connect my iphone 5 to my 2002 R230 (small screen nav unit)

My local audio shop suggests either using the TV input or using a dab radio add on unit which would pick up my iphone as a radio frequency (or something like that)

Has anyone here had success in connecting an iphone? I am not bothered about using it for hands free telephone calls, just for listening to my music..

Thanks, Dan

All you need for integrated sound from the iphone is the Dension gateway lite D2B.

Dension Gateway LITE D2B - iPod / USB for older D2B based cars | Mercedes iPod solutions | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd

This emulates a CD changer and will give you the best sound quality available in the car. Far superior to the FM based systems.

I never realized all R230`s have a hidden AUX in which works great.

(I am still learning about this car)

Thanks

They dont.

The SL from model year 2005 (May 2004) to model year 2008 doesnt have an AUX facility. The earlier D"B cars 2002 - 2004 do.
