Hello all,

First post in the forum- thank you for the helpful posts I've already read.

I have just purchased a 2006 C Class coupe and am slowly getting to grips with it.

Has anybody got any advice on how best to connect an ipod to the car? There is no aux plug I can see so I was hoping somebody could recommend an after market product/set up that would enable me to use my ipod through the car speakers. There is an after market bluetooth kit which I have connected to the phone but it does not appear to work when trying to play music, only calls- unless I have set it up wrong.

Kind regards and thank you in advance.

Best integration is with the genuine Mercedes ipod kit for the car. cost of the kit is £229. Easy to fit. Gives control from the steering wheel, instrument cluster for tracks/artists/playlists etc.

Thank you for the quick response Alfie.

Can you please advise how I find out which is the exact model I need? There are a couple of these ipod kits on ebay for example, but wanted to ensure I am buying the right model.

Kind regards,
James

You need the kit for W203/W209/W169/W245/W164/W251 NTG2.

Other kits such as the one for the E class or My 2009 cars wont work for you.

Also buy the amplifier add on module, otherwise you may find it's too quiet, seriously I know I did, and had to rake under the glovebox out again to fit it. The amplifier is not normally part of the standard fitting kit. I think this might be the one you're after

Mercedes Benz Ipod Interface Kit with Volume Amplifier | eBay

I can tell you it's no fun fitting everything back in behind the head unit. However they do work really well. If I find the manual for mine at the weekend I'll scan it.

It may be a stupid question? but have you got Comand? or what type of stereo system is fitted?

If it's a big difference in price then I'd probably just go for the AUX input, so thank you, I'll have a look at that link.
