Connecting USB to the Cigarette lighter

In my previous car, I added two new USB ports by tapping into the cigarette lighter and running the new USB sockets into the dash console:

I was planning on doing something similar on my W204 using this as I like to keep the cigarette adapter free (I can use my tyre pressure machine etc), also most of the cigarette-USB adapters cause interference to radios or stop the stock mercedes ashtray cover closing.

Has anyone done something similar? I'm still finding my way round the body of this car, but where would be the best place to run the usb sockets so that they accessible. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the ashtray and popping them out there just next to the cigarette ligher as I did on my beemer, or is it possible/better to run it through to the the cup holder area?

I've tried two so far. The first one causes radio interference, the second one sticks out too high and so the ashtray cover doesn't close.

Cheers, actually I've got this one, I just went back to check my car - the adapter is fine, it's the spring loaded lid which is the problem. I assume most people just rip it off?
