Considering upgrading to a A Class.

Hi, I am new to this forum as I am planning to upgrade from 2015 2.0 TDI Leon to an A Class. I have read the post from Tele 1962 and am now confused.
I was intending buying a year old model, AMG Line with the max extras my budget would allow.
I was gonna stick with diesel as I don't fancy a Renault engine, I have also read that the petrol engines aren't set up particularly well. I would require 150 bhp.I would prefer manual but I don't think there are as many of those available.
My Leon is a great car but I really fancy something better.
Is there any other advice/recommendations you add to what was offered to tele1962.
Obviously I will not be buying any car until I have driven it.

The 1.5 diesel in the A180d is ..... Renault based.

It's rather good.
