Bought a Hyundai leaf blower from an on-line site and it was delivered November 25th 2016. For varicose reasons I didn't get round to filling it with 2stroke and starting it until the week before last. Lets say 12th Jan. :dk:

It starts (with some difficulty) but won't run on anything over idle. Pulling the throttle (even gently) just results in a blahhh and stall. Phoning seller elicits the info that it needs the mixture adjusted. Fair enough, although you might expect it to have been tested and set-up properly before dispatch.
So, the mixture screw is a tamper proof design that requires a special tool that seller promised to send asap. First one didn't arrive so another phone call and promise to send another Special Next Day Delivery. Guess what still hasn't arrived a week later.
1st one might be an oversight but the Mail don't lose a Special Delivery surely? Methinks the piss is being extracted so where do I stand?

And the question is...is two months after delivery too long to claim a full refund on a Paypal transaction?

How about taking it to a local garden machinery shop/service centre. A friend got his hedge trimmer sorted plus a tutorial on how to use it FOC. He didn't buy it from them either!

whats the adjusting screw look like?
Might help to know the name of the carburettor manufacturer?
Bet your local garden equipment repair specialist will know.
Splined Carburetor Screw Screwdriver Adjustment Tool For ZAMA CARB H/L Chainsaw | eBay

Tiny toy carb with no visible name. Adjuster tool is a tube approx 6mm ID but with a half-mm male keyway protrusion internally and very thin wall thickness. So I tried gripping it with very thin snipes but couldn't get down the side to obtain a grip.

I probably could take it somewhere local but my dander is now up because of the non-arrival of special tool. Some ****-sure so and so from Isaac Way, Pembroke is doing nothing for their customer relations. ;)

Is this helpful, looks like jamming the stiff plastic tube inside the adjustment socket:

also this one:

This one is a possibility although the side clearance in the hole is minimal. A lot less than the version in the vid.

Perhaps he used to work for MBUK ?

Hyundai are a big enough company - I wonder if you could get the tool from another dealer ?

Totally understand the principle of being upset at the person who took your money . You could name and shame them on social media .

Serves you right for purchasing a crappy 2-stroke.:D

My (2-stroke) chainsaw is an utter barsteward to start, whilst the lawnmower and multi-tool (hedge, strimmer, chainsaw) are both Honda 4-strokes.

Start first time on a tickle...

:p

Thanks for that message of comfort Del. Next time I need a strimmer you're the go-to guy.

I could do that Derek, were I on social media. However...too many bankers on there for my liking. ;) I use the 'b' advisedly.

I have a two stroke strimmer which requires it to warm up before applying throttle. Applying any throttle while cold causes it to stall.

There is a choke control, but that is next to useless.

This is what you face when using two stroke machines.

How does it run when hot?

Can't argue with that advice but I'd wager that Derek is a little beyond that in terms of know-how. :thumb:

Good advice. But as you say the choke is next to useless, and it's the same after ten minutes warm-up. I'll phone tomorrow and call their bluff by asking for the tracking number of the missing delivery. Any further waffle and it's straight onto Paypal.
