Anyone any experience of these?

I've had Premium 2s but not the 'cooking' version...

Got a quote for £67 + VAT & balancing each for 2 rears 205/60 W15 from my new favourite garage.. as opposed to £259 from the nation's favourite rapid fitters

Need them tomorrow as head up north for Xmas so thoughts appreciated.

Link not working Ade?

£67+VAT sounds okay for Continentals in that size, and I'd imagine that with the slushy snow/ice that any tyres with chunky new tread will be a better bet than worn ones ;)

Can't really offer you much between Premium Contacts and 2s though, I doubt there's a great deal in it - certainly not £100's worth.

Link seems to need cookies or something... It just had a picture of said tyre.

Think I'm going to give them a whirl - can't find anything bad about them on the net - the Contact 2s are a bit more expensive but I can't get these for tomorrow at the local place.

Anything will be better than the current PC2s that are down to their wear markers - especially as its tipping down with snow again - hope I can get out the drive tomorrow

I run Conti Prem Contact 2's on my W124 estate - seem fine, and I believe Bolide swears by them on these cars.

2 fitted by etyres on my car was £130.

I've had them on my old 190 and don't have anything bad to say and certainly better than to P600 or firestones I had previously, they are grippy, brake well in the wet and good wear rate too.

I went from Pirelli P Zero Nero to Conti SP2 (or SP3?) on the Golf, they're slippier and noisier. Not got a vote from me.

I've got the Prem Contact 2's in 205/65 15V on my W126 and think they're great .

I need new ones on the front too .

I run both my W202's on Conti Premium Contact 2's 195 x 65 x 15 V rated which I get for £60.50 each fully fitted, balanced and inc. VAT. My local indepednant tyre chap always tries to get me a good price and I'm very happy.

I run both our E300TDs on Premium Contact 2s.
As good general-purpose road tyres, they suit these cars very well.
Cheers.

Cheers for the replies..

I appear to have had another set of Premium Contact 2s put on - which is a bonus as they are presumably better than the cheaper Premium Contacts.

Car feels tighter at the back (probably imagining it) :D

What do you run on your C43? I've got conti SC3 all round and the fronts need changing - wondering whether to go with a different brand..

I just bought a car back with PCIIs on. I fitted a set at sale and 20,000 miles on the fronts were worn on the edges because the balljoints were worn but, overall, the wear was surprisingly low

Another customer wanted new tyres on his 320TE Sportline after only two years. I was surprised but discovered he'd done 30,000 miles in that time and the rears were now worn

Great tyres, they wear well and they are very quiet. I really can't think of a good reason to switch

Clearly they won't suit all cars but they complement the W124 very well

Funnily enough I'm waiting for my road to defrost enough to get down to my local place for a set of the OEM Continental tyres, not sure what type exactly ("MO"?)

Will let you know if I'm happy with them, but given that I've been waiting since last Thursday to actually drive my car it may be a while..

Falken 452s currently, which I've got no complaints about.

'MO' are the Continental Merc fitment but they do various ones - 225/45 91W I think is the default tyre for the C43

Just got them fitted, they're Continental ContactSport3 with a little "MO" label on them, not sure about "91W" or similar but will have a look.

Initial impressions are ok, but then I'm comparing them to 3mm tread Falken 452s on ice :D

These are high performance tyres which will have outstanding grip in summer conditions, possibly at the expense of wear unfortunately. I would predict their winter performance will pretty poor to be honest so drive carefully.
