Convert headlamp beam pattern

Morning everyone,

I need to convert the beam pattern on my lights to drive in Europe for a month. Handbook and dealer say it is a dealer only job, is this true? If not, does anyone have a link for a guide on doing it? I have other vehicles where there is a lever on the back or top of the headlamp unit which can alter the pattern and hoped that this would be the same.

If the SL55 has projector headlamps then there should be a lever inside the headlamp unit, next to the bulb holder, it's small and fiddly ...

Some dealerships will adjust FOC, might be worth an ask?

My dealer did it FoC while I waited. He also told me how much a new lamp unit costs which put me off trying to do it myself.

They are adjusted from pointing left for UK roads to pointing centrally, so you don't have to rush back to the dealer as soon as you get back from your trip, you can safely drive in the UK with the adjusted lamps.
