First day....took a while to find this page ie for someone new took a while to find this section. Now Im here, about to collect my second W208.....had one a couple of years back, sold it (why - dont know), went back to a Volvo but as the saying goes "once you own a Merc, you'll always own one....", so the draw of a Merc and a proper one at that was too great to resist.

Q. After a decent Haynes Manual/Workshop Manual (obviously for a W208, with a 3198cc powerhouse). Not keen on the WIS as very extensive and my garage isnt the place for my laptop. ?

Many thanks :)

Is it me or is this site difficult to navigate? And, whilst I appreciate why the 30 post count it is frustrating when I am in urgent need of advice with my CLK.

Got a '99 CLK 320 Sport ;-) But after jet washing the wheels Ive not got a BAS, ASR and ABS error. Local garage confirmed hard DTC (5103 and 5401 with a P1605 code) - the latter code is ABS sensor but I havnt a clue what the first two mean? Is the jet washing wheels just a coincidence???

How does the 30 post count affect getting urgent advice on your clk?

Seriously, Advice Help Assistance Needed: If anyone can shed any light on the above fault codes I have. Local garage connected a reader to the MB38pin port and managed to clear a whole bunch of engine DTCs except P1605 ABS Sensor. However in Chassis mode unable to clear 5103 or 5401 - I assume these are related to the P1605?

Is their a site where I can download/see all the DTCs for a W208-365? Ive found loads of info but nothing for this vehicle.

Can anyone recommend a DTC reader that works fully on my W208-365? Realise I may need to purchase a 38pin to a 16pin OBDII connector cable. Theres also talk of a breakout box. Most of the threads Ive googled/come across say the readers either dont work or only offer limited functionality. The only solution is to use a MB system.

Correct, you should find a recommended independent mb specialist with a star diagnostics machine. It will likely save you time and money.

What is the issue you are experiencing exactly?

How does the 30 post count affect getting urgent advice on your clk?

I thought it would limit where I can post requests ie thought I was restricted to New Members Area only and therefore could it could have limited visibility, especially with the "experts".

Regards

The 30 post count just restricts use of classifieds (to discourage joining just to sell something) and the use of the private message function as some clever spammers started spamming via private messages.

Other than that you have full access and can post where ever you like (except for the secret section)

Spike. Fault codes as per thread following jet washing of wheels (this may be coincidental). Local garage connected a reader to the 38pin connector and read Chassis or Body (cant remember what it said) DTCs - tried to clear/reset but unable to with 5103 and 5401. Then read Powertrain DTCs - tried to clear/reset and was successful on all but one (P1605). A link in thread to DTCs was interesting but not W208 specific. Considering how popular this model is surprised no Haynes Manual and no DTC list. Any help much appreciated. Nearest MB Specialists is in Brigg - an hour away. Regards

Tried taking her round the block for some braking action (to heat/clear them out) but no change.

Oh, what have i done ;-(

It does sound like water has short circuited an abs sensor or something. Getting the braes nice and hot would no doubt dry it out and with a bit of luck the fault will clear. Abs sensors are expensive items to replace.
