Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong place but my mates 2010 E350(?) won’t drop its top. Completely dead, no clicking, no buzzing, nothing. Could it be something as simple as a fuse? Where do I look to check and which fuse would it be? Tia 👍🏻

In the owners manual or the fuse box.

Try to open with the key fob as part of the global opening system.
This might rule out if the roof switch in the car is faulty .
Buy a second hand icarsoft MB2 for £100

Thanks for your help.

Well bear him in mind, we aren’t too far from Griffiths Mercedes in Bristol so it’s going there next week hopefully and we’ll see what happens. Thanks again 👍🏻

Don't forget Ben at Parkway Mercedes , No frills MB independent in Fishponds.....yes I know Parkway is nowhere near Fishponds. Ben will explain explain if you get to meet him. :)

If , as I know the roof mech on my pal's CLK cabrio is , your roof is similar to that on my R129 SL was , there is also a relay mounted next to the pump in the boot , which can be a known culprit . After that you can be looking at microswitches ( and there are ways of diagnosing them ) and sometimes they just get dirty due to lack of use if the roof hasn't been used in a while .

Sometimes , manually unclipping and working the roof back and forth can get it moving again if the problem was just a period of not being used ; but you do need the emergency release tool and to follow the owners manual for raising and lowering the roof by hand .
