Cooing at new-born babies banned

What a load of poop

You know what really gets up my nose though is when women are actually pregnant and people take it upon themselves to have a feel of the bump!
To me that is just plain rude... keep your hands off my wife or I will cut them off!
They also think they can ask anything they like, like did you plan it? (What the ^&&* has it got to do with you)... feel sorry for you when your on number 3 when you actually want your baby.

I understand what you mean, our baby is due Tuesday 8th November and women love bumps and those who ask before the hands on are ok with my wife.... on one particular occasion I had to laugh :D we where out together and people stopped us and asked about the baby.they asked my daughter she's 5 are you having a brother or a sister :D she knows its a brother and tells them :) ...oh they say that's nice,..do you wounder what he will be like....... he will be just like my other brother she says...oh looking round, and where is he ...oh he's over there parking the car :bannana: ...well the looks I get ..and that's a big gap..... yes and so 19,5,and yet to be

Both unboard and newborns flourish with attention. It stimulates them and gives them something to do. This in turn promotes mental development.

The idea of treating them as people is plainly stupid since a child doesnt develop a sense of privacy for several years. Giving the baby something to listen to is a healthy alternative to being ignored and left alone.

Whoever makes new rules obviously doesnt know much about the infant mind.

Yes, but the advantages! We mercilessly used our oldest as a babysitter :D

I wonder if this news story is all it seems?
Very last paragraph..
"Infection control was also a key part of the message as the unit deals with very small babies with very vulnerable immune systems."
I think everyone can see the sense in stopping people getting too close to babies in the Special Care Baby Unit.

You can not get near babies in a Special Care Baby Unit anyway. This is on about the wards. I sure it is the same up and down the UK, only parents and people with invites can get on the baby ward.
