Having needed to do a fair few coolant changes on the family fleet, I bought a drum of the Comma long life advanced protection anti-freeze. It is the orange stuff, with organic acid technology or something.
The label on the drum says it is compatable with all petrol and diesel engines... however an article I read the other day said the organic stuff is not compatable with engines that contain yellow metal.
A mercedes specialist said only use 'mercedes anti-freeze'.... :dk:

It should also quote , either on the bottle or on the makers website , which Mercedes-Benz standard it meets .

Your car handbook should tell you the relevant spec for antifreeze .

As long as the Comma antifreeze meets or exceeds the relevant MB standard for your car then it will be fine .

I have been using Halfords Advanced coolant for the last few years with no I'll effects ; before that , I always used Bluecol until it became hard to find .

It meets MB 325.3 so I'm guessing its fine... still not sure about the 'yellow metal' business though. None of the booklets say anything about the spec for the anti-freeze, they just tell you to consult your dealer.

Might just go for some advanced protection old school blue anti-freeze. Then I wont have to run two fills of fresh water through the system as I wont be changing to OAT technology.

cheers
