coolant leak w124

always the way eh? 11 days off work and I go back tomorrow. Natalie comes home and I find the e320 leaking coolant from the front centre of the engine. Could not investigate properly so will put upon on stands tomorrow evening

I "think" its leaking from one of the metal pipes at the bottom (its certainly not leaking from one of the 3 large rubber hoses at the thermostat nor the top of the rad) - are these pipes known to fail? is there anywhere else at the front of the engine it could be leaking from that I should look for tomorrow?

Just to compound things I cannot find my haynes

I would suspect the water pump.

Update - took car to local garage whom I trust.

Having told him over the phone its probably the waterpump I am expecting a 300 quid bill. Very nice to hear that the damage was £18 - one of the top hoses was split (well diagnosed Matt having checked them)

So I gave them £20 for a drink; it would have been easy for them to do the waterpump and just replace the hose saying it got damage in removal - I would not have been any the wiser.
