went out earlier to pick up some paint brushes from B&Q and when I started up got the message "coolant low". I thought "okay, check in the morning, may just need topping up" and off I went.

When I got back noticed a small pool of water on the slabs, where I park. checked it out and it's coolant :(

Had a look underneath and could see where the coolant had run back along the tray. Where it could be seem was very near the front of the engine. Too dark to have a proper look now, so will have to wait until the morning.

Any thoughts ?

need to look at it - could be hose or connection or rad or water pump gone.

Managed to have a look today.

It seems to be from the water pump area, as found a dried run of coolant down the side of the engine below the crank pulley.

It wasn't dripping/running when I initially run the engine up, but I think that it's worse when the engine cools down and the different components are cooling at different rates.

Due to the lack of time, it'll have to wait a bit.

BTW how easy is it to replace one of these ???

Don't know how easy it is to replace; sorry. But you should get it sorted sooner rather than later. A water pump dripping to the extent that you can see a puddle is in a bad way and could let go completely giveing you an overheated engine depending on how quickly you spot the temp guage going up. You could then cause other future problems as cooked engines shorten the life of other parts - eg head gasket.
Dont be tempted to buy a cheap non branded water pump - get the job done properly once.

I am only putting it off til next weekend as I didn't have time to get one in for this weekend.

BTW - anyone done one and can point out any tit bits of info
