Hi there, my apologies if i have posted in the wrong section (My first post)

So basically i have an issue with my 2010 E350 CDI - I have a message that appears in front me that looks like a thermostat in water?

The fan kicks in and stays on continuously when the car is running. The fan also starts on its own - on and off for a short while when the car is switched off.

Coolant level is fine. At first Temperature gauge needle was bouncing up & down quickly from like 85 to 90 degrees. This has now stopped and it stays steady. AC is also working fine & car drives fine.

Please can someone help!

I wonder if the coolant temperature sensor is faulty?
Have you got a Merc indy close by who can put your car on STAR (MB diagnosis) and check for you.
Failing that you may have to bend over and let the dealer to look at it.

Thanks for the quick reply

I have had a local garage run a diagnostic check on it. it came up with this -

Fault:
10C1

Engine/AC electric suction fan
-Short circuit to positive
-Permanent

Also under AC Switch it said 'Not operated' even though the AC is working fine.

Mechanic was pretty clueless.

Do you think it could still possibly be a faulty temperature sensor?
