C 220 CDI sport edition
Hi, forgive me as I am new to this Mercedes lark, I have a 2006 c220cdi sport, when driving to work this morning the temp guage didn't go above 50 degrees, the ambient temperature was 3.5 degrees, could this be a thermostat problem, or is this normal for these engines?
Thanks

Possibly a faulty thermostat. Had same with my E220 cdi and new stat cured it. Should sit at about 80 degrees I think.
Not dear to buy and not bad to fit if you're handy with the spanners.

It's both normal and a thermostat problem, in that it's an extremely common fault.

Like saff says, one of the easier DIY fixes or it should be no more than an hour at an indie.

New thermostat should be fine, also you will see an improvement in MPG

How log was your journey to work though? as my car takes about 20 minutes to fully warm up.

The trip to work takes about twenty minutes, mostly fast rural roads.
