Hi there,

I have coroded fuel lines on my 1994 E320 coupe.

Can anyone please tell me what getting these changed involves ie. do I need to buy the correct pipes or can they be made up at the garage and are they high pressure lines etc.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks Grant

The originals will be steel with flexible pipe on the ends where they go to the filter and whatever they go to on the engine end. I've replaced the corroded lines on several cars with quality flexible braided fuel hose with no problems though care must be taken with routing and securing as it is more vulnerable to damage, chafing etc. My current CLK was done like this some time ago and no problems to report, much easier to work with than a 4m rigid steel pipe!

Hi Grant, any idea where on the car the lines are corroded? Sometimes a short section can be replaced with flexible pipe with no ill effects. Not sure whether brake pipe could be used, but can't see any reason why not.

Fuel line are larger than brake pipes.
