Costco tyre deals - anyone know of any coming up?

Did you get a price from Martins tyres Will ?

Hi Peter,

Got a price from Martin's tyres today - he's going to do me a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2s (2x 225/45/17 and 2x 245/40/17), in MO fitment (Mercedes-spec) for £504 all in.

That's better than the other cheapest quote for regular PS2s (£512) plus they are the MO spec tyres

Cheapest I found for standard PS2s was about £485 delivered (online) from Blackcircles by applying a 3% discount. When you add in the cost/hassle of fitting, it's just not worth it - and MO spec ones would be more expensive.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll post back once they're fitted :)

Paul is the main man down there, good guy. Never asked him why it's called Martins. I have used him for a number of years on the S-Class's I've had and of course the C43.

I'm glad he is competitive.

My cousin works @ Costco, so 35% is the norm discount on tyres that he receives. Great choice of Michelen's and a great service all round.

Does he get 35% off everything there? If so, it would probably be worth my wife getting a job there!

Pretty much everything!

Is he allowed to get stuff for other people (even cousins)? Be careful here - I obviously don't know about Costco but there's a thread on Pistonheads about a guy who got sacked from Halfords for using the staff discount to get something worth a tenner for someone else.

Had 4 Michelins fitted on one of my vans at Costcos. Not really a good job. I had to go re-align at a different shop. That was back in june 09. For my personal cars i`ll never fit tyres at Costco( some1 said about bad experience- same here ) .
I`ll stick with my Conti Sport :)

Costco don't do alignment, do they? Why would changing the tyres affect the alignment?

It's entirely down to the individual fitter, wherever you go. At least with Costco you're dealing with a company which puts member customer service first so I'd be confident that if they messed things up then they would put them right again.

When a specialist place damaged my unmarked 18mth old wheels they offered to do a cheap refurb but nothing less than brand-new wheels would have satisfied me, and that was never going to happen.

I had 4 tyres fitted at Costco last November when the offer was on, they were by far the cheapest place and the service was perfect. You don't have to have all 4 fitted at the same time, you can by 4 to get the discount and then have some or all fitted at a later date free of charge.

All costco tyre fitters are michelins train, the ones who fitted tyres to my car(sheffield) has been very professional and its the only place i would use as the tyre machine is high spec and havnt damage any of my rims yet

Just a quick update to this thread:

Loaded the four refurbished AMG wheels into the 300TE this morning and popped down to Martin's tyres.

Less than 30 minutes from me door to door on the way there.

Straight in, no faffing and they had a number of guys on the job.

10 minutes later, they're all done, tyres/valves fitted and balanced. Not a single marked wheel. Carefully carried out and loaded into the car for me, quick chip/PIN payment and I'm on my way again :)

Prompt, polite service. Not a single problem and the very best price ever. Back home - about 20-25 minutes door to door this time.

100% thumbs up from me, I'll certainly be returning in the future

Anyone in the West London/Surrey areas should definately try them for a price, they're quick and easy to get to, 2 minutes from the M3 junction 3 (one after the M25 turnoff). It'll probably be quicker than popping to your local fast fit centre as well due to not waiting around so long :thumb:

I have used them for a number of years, for the W220,W221 and the C43 which all have AMG's and they treat them with the respect all expensive AMG's should have.

They are a very professional outfit, I'm glad you where happy with there service. I know how particular you are Will.

With the bodywork you have had done and now the refurbished wheels, i look forward to seeing the car tomorrow.

Pretty much everything!
