Coupe Mercs are just so common (Spotteds near Norwich)

This morning I picked up the E Coupe after having an MOT and a couple of bits corrected.

Anyway, I pull out of the Merc Specialist and within 200 yards, a beautiful 208 CLK55 Coupe exits their house in front of me. It was a gorgeous Dark Blue/Black, W-reg, with some 18" Carlsson alloys.

We both head on to the main road together and eventually catch up a silvery-blue C215 CL500!

Driving 3-up towards Norwich, we get to some traffic lights, 3 lanes wide and so there we are: CL500, CLK55, E320 all side by side. I caught the eye of the lady in the CLK, pointing out all the Coupe Mercs together, to which she gave a knowing smile!
It was then I realised there was also a fourth Mercedes in the line-up - A 204 C220 CDI Estate!

Sadly I didn't have my camera on me, but it's great to have such a common breed of car LOL

ETA thinking about it, they only did ~320 RHD saloons, so if I'm going to run into another one chances are it'll be at the pumps

Before I got my E350 I saw about 2 other new E Classes in the 3 months. Since starting to drive mine though I have seen a whole bunch of them. Set off from some lights near my house last week and passed a silver one coming the opposite way and another silver one on the pavement 20 metres further down the road!

I have observed more W124 coupes in the last month than I recall seeing in the last 10 years.

There is something old-fashioned about a coupe which I like.

It's funny about seeing cars. Until I starting thinking about a W124, I rarely clocked them, yet on a drive to the local supermarket I counted 6 estates parked within a mile that I had not noticed before. Then I started noticing the coupes, and the other day saw 3 W202s in 30 yards.

It certainly raises some interesting thoughts on how powers of observation are enhanced by awareness.
