Hi all, evening...

can i ask for a bit of info please.

W211 e220 cdi.

Im looking for a crankcase breather.

on the parsouq website, im putting in my chassis number & its showing me parts.

On the diagram its number 50, part number-- A 646 010 12 62

When i go looking for the part not much comes up. or if any thing does its sell a kidney time.
Ive looked on ebay & autodoc & there showing me just the breather

Can this part be cleaned out & reused. or is it just throw away.?

any help be appreciated.

I can find the other part number A646 010 1462 which looks the same. but not sure.

any ideas please.

Hi all.
Cold out there, -1 at the mo', 6.45am.

Yeah.. changed the above breather, I could only get it from main dealer €140, for a bit of plastic I thought was dear.
But yeah, done the job, all ok.
& I like I say, there was no oil around visable & only white smoke from the tail.

Car (I'm told) runs like new..no white smoke.. power is up.

& there was visable damage on the old part, & even tried to blow through it & ok, broke the lid off it & the diaphragm was ok. So no way from my inspection of why the part failed.

Hope this helps someone out there.

Fang . Can you cut the old one open and show us the insides ?

So sorry petrol Pete,
I've only just seen your reply.

We did cut the thing, obviously to see if in future we could rebuild it or change internal parts, but yeah...no.
There was just a spring & the only thing I can call is it like a speaker.
If you can imagine a speaker & remove the magnet & replace it with a spring.. & the thing like is a lung it breathes / pumps some how.
Sorry for my madness of description.
Personally I don't see how it can be fixed, just replaced. & It did stop white smoke.

Sorry for not getting back to you till now, & I should of took a photo of insides, didn't think.
