Crashed cars found in US lake after more than 40 years

Two crashed cars and their occupants have been found at the bottom of a US lake after apparently going missing in 1969 and 1970 respectively. A slightly creepy story but I guess it will give closure to their surviving relatives.

Depends upon the impact, it could have been severe enough to incapacitate the occupants (no seat belts in those days, it wouldn't have taken much of an impact) , or of course just sheer panic.

One can only hope it was the former.

The saloon looks to be in pretty good condition, whereas the back end of the Camaro is almost gone (possibly impact damage).

The teenager driving the Camaro was given it brand new when he was 16

Both cases do appear to be tragic. A sad remark from the grand daughter of what is believed to be the older chap. Where she vividly remembers both him and her parent going out searching for him every night.
