Creaking front brakes or suspension CLS 219?

My CLS has conventional suspension and brakes. When pulling up to a halt there is a loud creaking noise from the right hand side.

It's actually difficult to tell if it's the suspension or brakes creaking but it does only do it when my foot is on the brake pedal at low speed. It doesn't do it on bumps.

I have had all the pads out and cleaned them and greased them but no change.

No play in any of the front suspension joints.

Any ideas?

Does it creak if you brake to stop properly instead of holding the pads gently on a moving vehicle ?

drop link or anti roll bar bush would be my first port of call.

control arm bushes can creak before they start slapping whilst braking.
