Creaking suspension over bumps 2008 ML320 with 62kMiles -

Hi

I have ML320 W164 year 2008 before facelift.

Noticed creaking noise on uneven surface or over speed bumps. This is only at the back - front is ok.
Can hear also when parked when coming in and out of the car.
During driving its OK in the cabin - to hear it I need to be at low speed and have window open.

Apart from this - no knocking etc. just squealing and creaking.

Seems to be coming out from the lower part of the suspension / tyre.

What can this be? Is it something serious or just need some lube here and there?

Check for a broken spring.

Doubt it - especially that one side is worse than other.
I cant imagine that both springs went at the same time.

Thinking about ball joints now.

But will check anyway

Have had a few with noisy ball joints.

As well as the balljoints, check the anti roll bar mounting bushes.
