Creaky steering wheel argh!!

Hi all

Does anyone know how to remove this please? My steering wheel squeaks, creaks and groans like crazy at anything other than the straight ahead position and so I want to investigate - I'm assuming I need to remove the shroud to do this....
All help gratefully received!

Sorry meant to say its about the steering column shroud/cowl - how do I remove that?

It's in the cabin as opposed to the steering joints ? (near the wheels).

It is - the plastic cylindrical cover that is directly behind the steering wheel. The one that the indicator/wiper stalk comes out of

Ah - I realised you meant the noise not the shroud!! Yes the wheel itself squeaks/creaks as I turn it...

No need to remove --spray grease or work some vaseline in with a toothpick?
