There’s been a few comments about car thefts etc but there is now this for Creamfields 2019. Shocking that this level of car crime would go on unchecked at such a major event!

Spotted Creamfields 2019

I clicked to find out what ‘Creamfields’ is , but apart from a couple of pics of a few cars in a field somewhere, mostly obscured by farcebook logos , still none the wiser .

It's a music festival (definitely).

Or a massive cheese jolly (could be)!

Shocking how they can get away with it!!

Organised car thieves are not all stupid. When you think about it, music festivals are an obvious target. Park your car, leave it and don't return for a full day (or more), no security cameras, low paid car park attendant(s), disclaimer notice on the car park entrance (if any).....

Then you come back to find your posh car is missing some very expensive parts. If you saw someone messing with a car in a field full of cars - would you question them? To whom would you report it?

Very profitable, low risk theft - sad but true.

I reckon this type of theft is only going to increase.

Hard to argue with that.
What's driving it though? I hear 'stolen to order' (looking at the photos some thefts appear very specific) but who is placing the orders?. Will they always be from abroad? Three instances of headlight thefts from RHD vehicles. Not the British buying stolen parts is it?

There’s a huge market for spares both here and abroad. People want parts on the cheap and especially people want to upgrade their car. I’m on other forums and most of the posts are about fitting higher spec parts. This forum is the exception. Look on eBay, it’s full of car parts. That’s why you see specifics like the seats out of the Audi. Most probably the sports seats. Cheap to steal so almost 100% profit when sold

There's still a Creamfields? I didn't even know Cream was still open.

A mechanic friend of mine specialised in buying & renovating older Range Rover Discovery cars. He has recently stopped because used parts e.g. wheels/doors/wings etc were becoming ridiculously hard to find or mega expensive - as a direct result of the number of cars that were being stolen, parts stripped off and sold on - mainly to overseas buyers. He said he could almost guarantee that if he left a Disco parked outside his premises overnight, within hours, the car would be gone - only to be found later with the above parts (and more) missing. It's big business and very lucrative (apparently).
