Have made the decision and have ordered a new iMac 27" - with the ram increased to 8GB. Been told it will arrive Monday. Am feeling like a kid at Christmas and really looking forward to it.
Only problem is I have to go into the hospital Monday for my first cast change so have arranged for a friend to be here to sign for it.

Would like to thank Swozza for all his help with this. Just goes to show what a great forum this is that someone who doesn't know me is so willing to help out. Saved me big time so once again many thanks mate and hope I can return the favour one day.

True. But those are mainly quad core mine is dual. Also as they have upped the ram that included testing.
