Which one is better for MPG? I’ve been using Cruise Control and find it much better since when i’m about overtaking and press the throttle with speed limiter then all of sudden no faster

What are you saying?? Please reword.

If I may:

"Which is better for fuel economy?

I've been using cruise control and find it better as I can speed up to overtake and then return to the cruising speed.

When driving on the speed limiter, pressing the accelerator only takes the car up to the set limit."

Best driving mode for fuel economy is intelligent soft body speed control. But it requires concentration and good anticipation.

Cruise is OK for economy and gives some flexibility for overtaking.

Speed limiter is in my view for avoiding speeding fines in restricted zones.

Ah sorry my English is 2nd language. I’m asking which one is better for MPG and which one most here prefer.

Oh no worries at all mate! I just didn’t understand what you meant :)

I use cruise pretty much all the time, and press accelerator to overtake. The only annoying thing is getting boxed in and having to turn off cruise to slow down.. I wish I had ‘distronic’

I never use speed limiter really, I wouldn’t want to as if I needed to accelerate for whatever reason and it didn’t do it I’d be annoyed :)

I use cruise where I can, increasing or decreasing speed by 1 or 2 mpg to match traffic.

I use the speed limiter when average speed cameras to ensure I do not exceed the average speed.

I use cruise but if you are slowed up by traffic I do not use resume as the ar$$ of the car tucks under and accelerates hard to figure set so not a good way to get best mpg. Gently accelerate to cruise speed then re engage.

Works for me! 30mpg on a 5 litre V8 with aircon on (when working and warm weather):) is more than acceptable.

Read the manual, Speed limiter does not prevent you from accelerating, if you push the throttle pedal to the floor it accelerates as normal and overrides the limiter..

Have you got something against me??

Only silly questions and statements. Also, if you are going to quote me please do not be subjective, quote the whole post so it makes sense for others please.

You clearly do not understand how the limiter works, it will give the throttle a dead feeling but by pressing harder it will accelerate as normal, not as you describe.

Great thanks for the information, but surely there is a better way to word it without coming across as rude and sarcastic? We are all on here to help each other out and share the knowledge we have.

Your decision to interpret it in that way is down to you. If you wish to add your own context to replies then that has also to be down to you. I try to work on factual and accurate.

I think I’m going to have to block you, can’t deal with negative people.

I cannot deal with needy people who post for the sake of it!!!!

Thank you for my not having to read more of the usual drivel, several members have contacted me about your posts!

How am I needy? How do I post for the sake of it? You just look for arguments for the sake of it, do you not have anything better to do?

I tend to use cruise to keep to limits just tapping it off if required. Using the speed limiter if you floor the accelerator it will override, slow depression of the accelerator to the floor will not override it.

For your information I do not look for arguments, your interpretation of something does not make it fact.

Stop being so touchy about things, it is an Internet Forum that has many benefits to some but ultimately has very little context with regards to real life because it is just the opinion of people and some put more importance on that opinion than others.

The overall standard of the Forum has clearly declined over the time I have been a member, far too many people posting with nothing useful to add, others that ask questions, have them answered and disappear or just add an emoticon for no benefit etc.

Wow! What's wrong with this picture... how did it go from "Which is better" to negative people??

Anyway distronic, you don't want it trust me.. at least on Skoda its Killer, and I mean dangerous.. it controls you not you controlling the car, it thinks for you slows down and accelerates at all the wrong times.. nearly ran into the back of another vehicle as it chose to accelerate "keeping up with the traffic".. down right scary...

Which Skoda was that (model / year)

Which category do I fit into? I certainly don’t just ask questions, and I’d like to think at least some of what’s I post is useful.

I’ve spoken to a few of my friends on here and they all seem to mention you being on their block list so I’m not sure if the problem lays with me or you.
