Comes on and off switch arm very slack

It should be off for the cc to be working. On is speedtronic.

OK I have had it on had it off where do I start to fix it could it Bethe stalk as mine is very loose also what is speedtronic?

Speedtronic is the speed limiter. Sets maximum speed that the car can go. Very useful in motorway roadworks.
This is active when the light in the stalk is on and a light in the dash sows 'lim'
The set speed is also shown in the trip display on an r170.
Set/change/disable as you would cc
