2003 C220 Estate
Hi All

This has been covered for various cars etc but not had a clear answer... any help would be appreciated.

C220 Estate, Classic 2003

I've just had my rear tyres replaced. Until then everything was working fine. 205s on front and 215s on rear (i can't check what came off unfortunately).

Tyre pressures fine.

Cruise control works up to 40mph then cuts out. Can't be set above 40mph. Speed limiter working fine at any speed!

Any suggestions?

Matt

What size tyres, both width and aspect ratio, does you handbook say should be fitted?

If the rolling radius of the front and rear axles are different the cruise control won't engage. The microbrain sees them rotating at different speeds and interprets it as loss of traction.

If you have 16x7 rims at the front and 16x8 at the back the tyres should be 205/55 and 225/50 respectively.

As above if you get the sizes wrong they rotate at different rates (and things like the speedo and odometer will be out).
