"An engineer at Tesla told him he was doing it wrong. How? Apparently rather than interpreting your tapping on the car as a plea for help as it crushes your bones, the Cybertruck thinks you want the door to close harder."

I don't understand.... this YouTuber knew it will break his finger, and yet went on and did it anyway?? Why? For 'likes'?

The point is, that other manufacturers cars have a safety cut outs which reverse the stopping process. So, for example a child's hand doesn't get injured.

This very valid point was already made several months ago after the Cybertruck deliveries started... but to film yourself deliberately breaking your finger on YouTube.....

Yeah, never seen similar issues happen with other manufacturers. ;)

Man Sues Mercedes After Soft-Close Doors Chop Off His Thumb

The lawsuit also calls for Mercedes-Benz’s soft closing doors to use sensors in order to avoid future issues like this one. It also says the company shouldn’t be marketing this feature if protective sensors aren’t installed, as there aren’t any warnings about a possible danger.”

Yep, more EV/Tesla sensationalism. That bloke is obviously a Dickhead. 🤬😱

He's a lightweight.

If he really wanted proper exposure he should have used his knob 🤪
Yep, he would definitely have got exposure with that! Or would it have been indecent exposure? Either way he's still a knobhead. 🙄

The way I read it is that he was trying to show it was safe and WONT hurt you!!....he was wrong!!

Smashing his finger for 'Likes"? Pah, amateur.

This is how it's done:

(But he's heading to prison)

The thing that gave him away, BTW, was that when the engine cut out, he immediately started pulling and pushing on the stick to reduce air speed and allow him to jump, instead of trying to restart the engine or just continue glide-flying looking for a place to land... and he made no MayDay call. That, and the fact that he just 'happened' to be wearing a parachute......

Now he's wearing a Straight Jacket (Hopefully) 🙄

Gotta confess I don't see the need for soft close. Never have. Seems to me it's just one more unnecessary extra in the options war that's going to go wrong one day & cost more than the car is worth to fix.

Neither did I, until I had it.

I’d never go back now, self-presenting/closing doors have also spoiled me… I’ll only be able to drive a MX or Rolls Royce at this rate. 🤦‍♂️ Actually I think Rolls don’t have self-presenting doors 🤔
