Hi all,

I wonder if anybody knows the firing order on a 112, 2400cc V6 engine.

Mine has developed rough idling and I've been told that cylinders two and five are misfiring. The plugs have been replaced but this had made no difference.
My specialist says that the coils on these two cylinders are probably faulty.

I going to have a go at replacing these coils and so I also need to know the cylinder layout of the six cylinders. i.e which one is cylinder number 1, number 2 etc.

As always you input will be highly appreciated.

Regards

As you are in Birmingham why not pop to Smethwick and see Andy Gayle, he would be able to help you. He is located right next to Eurocarparts if you wanted to get any replacement parts.

Have you checked the MAS (Mass Air Flow Sensor), I got told about missfiring when i had problems and it turned out to be the MAS.

Thanks Guys

The MAS was replaced by the previous owner in April 2003. The car has only covered about 5000 miles since it was replaced. I have the receipt from the dealer who fitted it. My specialist did say that he did check the MAS and all seemed to be in order!

This is really baffling me.

front right is one, right bank, central is 2, back 3

front left is 4, left central is 5, left back is 6...

Is that orientation when looking from the front of the car into the engine bay or from the rear. I presume its looking from the front. Do you know the firing order?

Thanks for the info - much appreciated.
