DAB 'Device Unavailable' Message

Will do. All all looking very positive so far, tho I did need to hard reset, as the update seems to knock out presets and tuning (possibly corrupts user config/settings).
Hey ho, worth it for interruption free DAB!

Well, they swapped the aerial and performed the software upgrade. I suspect the former was a waste of time however.
You will be fine under warranty, the fix was released this week, so many service teams may not even be aware yet. Get it booked in ;)

Has anyone got the details of the fix? As, my dealer is saying they no nothing about it. A not unusual scenario..

Happy to grab the version number from engineering mode if that helps. Just let me know what and where it is.

Ask them to contact the Wandsworth/Chelsea branch too.

If you can get the details it will help, I'll also tell them to have a word with the branch you mentioned. Many thanks

Hello Andrew, my dealer knows nothing :wallbash: about this s/w fix. Was it the Wandsworth or Chelsea dealer you went to? Or is it one in the same?

By the way, are you still positive about this fix?

Thanks.

Just spoke to my dealer in Maidstone and was told they have been issued with a software update. No mention of replacing the aerial. Am booking in.

just been on the phone with mbenz loughton and they said they are not aware of any fix regarding this issue. i've been advised to have the problem diagnosed and take it from there.....

Sorry for the delay chaps.

Tell them all to forget the aerial (no doubt a quick money maker for them, when charging back to the central warenty department) and speak to Neil at Mercedes Chealsea (the one that's in Wandsworth/Jews Row).

He will be able to give you all the info. As soon as my paper work comes through, I'll post any details of the code version.

Also, if someone can confirm how I check this version in engineer mode, I'll gladly share it.

Cheers

Andrew

Has the update fixed the problem Andrew?

I just called Lookers Gatwick (franchise) and they are fully aware of the device unavailable issue but have yet to get a software fix from Mercedes.

MB Epsom (Retail) also no software update.

Was in at Brooklands on Thursday - they were aware of the problem and are awaiting fix. Did upgrade my COMAND whilst there though and I thought it was fixed for a while but it did happen towards the end of my journey home.

I'm also getting this issue on my 2013 C-Class, i was also told by Mercedes Watford that its a known issue with the satellites and to wait until their 'high priority' issue has been fixed and there is nothing for me to do at this stage :(

Watford Mercedes are well behind the times the satellite issue lasted a couple of days max.

If you're having a nav update from the dealer, would the software be updated at the same time?

Depends on how switched on the dealer us. Some just do what you ask for, others are more proactive and do the various software updates.

Just had call from my dealer to bring the car in on Thursday for a software update that's supposed to fix it. Will keep you updated.

DAB update done. Took half hour for the dealer to do, so far it's not dropped out, including a trip on a local back road that's known to have poor reception.

Those who have had the issue fixed, please could you post which dealer fixed ? Most don't yet seem to have the fix.
