I've had the update 2 months now and virtually every time I start the car when I'm at or near home (Gu21) it comes up with 'Device Unavailable'. About 2 minutes later it returns with the channels. I'm now wondering if it's a hardware issue and the device cannot actually remember more than 100 channels in its Flash ram.
I ventured in to the DAB triangle near Guilford yesterday and found a new problem, all the BBC national stations vanishing for a period, then reappearing by the M25 Staines junction.

Took it in the other week to get checked and was told i`d have to pay £70 for the firmware upgrade because it was out of warranty (by 3 months). I agreed as i wanted it fixed but then thought why everything else in my house gets free firmware upgrades but my car is costing me £70? Turns out they need a good few hours to get it working , as it wasnt successful in the hour I left it with them so they asked me to book it in for a full day. I left to go home with a "device unavailable" permanently on the dab screen, at least before it was only occuring everything 5mins or so. Anyway have complained to Mercedes customer services to see if they can come up to a better (and cheaper) solution .
Sounds like the numpty who was doing it, didn't know how to do firmware updates and/or replace the antenna. There is still a problem with comand getting confused if you drive into an area which has more than 100 DAB stations, which causes stations to disappear for a period.

It fixes the 'device unavailable' messages and improves reception no end, but Comand still doesn't know what to do when the tuner passes more than one hundred stations to it. You then start losing stations (typically BBC national ones).
Luckily this only seems to happen in the Guildford DAB triangle.
Richard can tell you the gory details.
