Is there anyway of improving the signal on the DAB?
My signal is not great, probably due to the antenna on this model. I think it’s within the front screen.

I had no issues on my previous W205 which i believe is embedded in the rear screen.
Anyone found a way of improving this?

thanks.

Try a firmware update at your local dealership.

If it helps the DAB reception on my 2018 205 convertible is very good so hopefully the firmware update will sort it for you...

Thanks for the replies guys, I’ve just today tracked down the issue. The radio antenna is embedded in the front windscreen. I have a dash cam on the front screen. I unplugged this and the reception issue disappeared.
So I’ve now attached a ferrite suppressor to the dash cam power cable. Having reconnected the dash cam now the reception is fine.
So now resolved.

thanks again👍

Just got a W204 at the weekend. The DAB is unusable, it just read no signal.

I've noticed a very neat little micro USB plug poking out from behind the plastic cover behind the rear view mirror. I suspect a dash cam was fitted there by a previous owner.

Do you think I could be having the same issue? Nothing is plugged in to the little USB.

I very much doubt that’s your issue. Unless there is power permanently going through the cable. When I disconnected my dash cam the signal would be fine, only when the dash cam powered up was it a problem.

Hi, in some areas the DAB signal is simply not good enough ! Sad but true, it's very unlikely you'll be able to improve it. There is a system called DAB +, researching that may help. Good luck.

Yeah I kind of thought that too. Maybe I need a firmware update.

Yeah I drove all over the south over the weekend there was improvements in some areas.

But I live in south London, and I'm pretty sure DAB signal is as good as required here. Sounds like a firmware update might help, but I just got a quote for £200. Surely MB could provide a method of automated software update. Pretty disappointed. Only want to listen to radio 6 on occasion.

£200 to update the radio ???:eek::eek: This sort of stuff should be free when the car goes in for a service.

I would definitely disconnect any USB device as even with no current flow, just being connected to power can kill the signal.

I know! Jokes. It wasn't from a dealer, in fact from an independent specialist recommended on this forum. I assume it'll be more from the dealer, but you never know...
