Hello
My 1997 SL320 has developed white patches which look like water ingress underneath the two bottom corners of the windscreen

I presume that this is something which others have experienced

Can anyone tell me how to cure this please?

Thanks very much

Martin

Hi Martin,

My 98 E430 has the same in the bottom right corner.

AFAIK there's nothing we can do other than replace the screen.

If you want to ensure it gets no worse you could remove the screen & smear the glass edge with silicone sealant, but I wouldn't think it's worth it.

It's caused by the glass layers delaminating... there's a plastic layer in-between, & moisture gets in.

The white patches are caused by delamination of the screen and ingress of dampness ; it is quite common on a variety of models ( I've experienced it on a W124 front screen and a W126 rear screen ) ; the only solution is replacement of the glass .
