Dartford river crossing new toll charges

This is despite a promise to remove the tolls once the crossings had been paid for.

I remember that 'promise' but thought I imagined it in the end...

I understand now they are using the money to build a second crossing not far away from it.

Whether that is bull or not - who knows.

I presume it was said by a politician, if so why are you surprised, misleading the public is their business, although looking at the costs of the Severn Crossings and Humber Bridge the current and proposed Dartford tolls look like great value.
